Popularity of tiles in modern day construction and renovation of old floors and wall with new aesthetic tiling materials have called for better tiling techniques and superior adhesives and joint fillers, which will ensure longevity of tiling works and their long term maintenance benefits. Special areas such as swimming pools and industrrial tiled floors demand improved water proofing and chemical resisting properties. On the other hand glass mosaic tiles and granite tiles demand far superior ahesive properties. Keeping all job requirements in mind "Perma" brings you a range of tile adhesives and joint fillers to make all critical tile applications possible.
Common Advantages
As a general rule all tile adhesives and joint fillers offer the following advantages.
- No need to soak the tiles before fixing. Soaking operation involves extra labour as well as chances of some breakages.
- No curing is required in case of all adhesives and joint fillers. Surface to be tiled need not be made wet as is the practice while tile fixing with cement.
- Surface to be tiled do not need mechanical key, hacking etc. Tile joint fillers make the joints look clean and lustrous with the chosen shade.
Shelf Life
Keep all Perma Tiling Aids range of products in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture in original manufacturers packing. All Perma Tiling Aids range products have a shelf life of one year.

Mixing Mix Base and Reactor to a uniform Consistency, Add Filler and Mix Properly
Coverage 124Sq feet per Kg (3mm wide joints 12" x 12" Tiles)
General Guidelines
- While using adhesives no hacking or mechanical key is required.
- It is advantageous to have the surface as plumb as possible. This saves on the consumption of adhesives.
- Mix one component adhesive or tile joint fillers with water generally in the proportion of 1 volume of water to 3 1/2 to 4 volumes of powder. The resultant mortar should be uniformly smooth and of a stiff consistency.
- The tile mortar should be applied on the surface to be tiled and behind the tile also so that when tile is fixed no hollowness remains behind the tile.
- Keep two or three millimeter gaps between tiles. This is in accordance with tiling codes of various countries.
- It helps in making the joint water proof by filling with a aesthetic joint filler.
- It hides slight deformities or skewness in tiles which are always present.
- It becomes easier to replace a tile which accidentally gets damaged.
- While tiling on the exterior surfaces of buildings, care should be taken to provide flexible joints at regular intervals. These flexible joints should make the bedding material discontinuous. Flexible joints are also required at places where concrete and brickwork meet such as soffit of beam and top of brickwork in any multi - storied building. Fexible sealants are of polysulphide, Acrylic Mastic, Butyl etc.
- As per the Tiling codes, tile joints should be grouted with cementitious tile fillers (C-tone) only after 24 hours of tiling. In case of industrial tile joint filler, (R-tone) grouting the joints should be done after 72 hours after tiling.
- Tile joint recommended for industrial tile flooring is 8mm to 10mm whereas for normal tiling it is 2mm to 3mm irrespective of tile size.
- Before filling the industrial tile grout, masking tape should be fixed along the edges of the tiles to prevent staining of the tiles by spread. The tapes should be removed within three hours of joint filling or else it gets stuck with the filler. In normal practice all joints in one direction are filled on the first day and joint in perpendicular direction are filled the next day.
